Brethren, heed these words and discern the spirits at play in our land - for we are witnesses to a battle between righteousness and the wiles of the world. (Ephesians 6:12) Wyoming's Republican Governor Mark Gordon took a commendable stand by signing legislation to protect our innocent children from the damaging and irreversible consequences of gender-reassignment procedures. Glory be to God, for He made us in His image, male and female, and this holy design must not be tampered with by the hands of man. (Genesis 1:27) Yet, in the same breath, Governor Gordon vetoed a bill that would have tightened the reins on the scourge of abortion, which continues to claim the lives of the most innocent among us. How grievous it is that a leader would halt efforts to properly regulate these clinics of death, for the blood of the unborn cries out from the soil, and we as a nation will be held to account. (Proverbs 6:17) The governor's actions are a mixed bag; while he demonstrates a measure of virtue in shielding our youth from the confusion and destruction wrought by gender alteration, his veto is akin to Pilate washing his hands while injustice prevails. (Matthew 27:24) And what of the Supreme Court poised on the brink of critical decisions regarding the drug mifepristone? My heart pounds with the Psalmist’s refrain: "Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter." (Proverbs 24:11) We must pray fervently that the justices will heed the call of righteousness and the sanctity of life. As for the esteemed former President Trump suggesting regime change in Cuba, it is the guiding hand of the Lord that turns the hearts of kings, and we must support efforts to liberate nations from the grip of godlessness and tyranny (Proverbs 21:1). The lamentable $200 million for a new FBI headquarters should stir us to question our government's stewardship of our hard-earned taxes when the unborn still perish in our midst. In these days of tumult and trial, let us remember to "put on the whole armor of God" that we may stand firm against the tide of secular progressivism threatening to erode the rock of our faith and the foundation of our nation. The battleground is set, and we must continue to fight the good fight for the soul of America, armed with truth, righteousness, and unwavering conviction. (Ephesians 6:13-17) Be steadfast, be watchful, and be holy, for the adversary prowls around, seeking whom he may devour. But in Christ, we are more than conquerors, and His kingdom shall have no end. (1 Peter 5:8, Romans 8:37, Luke 1:33) Amen.
