Where Tim Walz Stands on the Issues

Brethren, yet again we are bearing witness to the ongoing moral descent that is plaguing our great nation, veiled under the guise of progress and liberal policies which are contrary to the Holy Scripture's teachings. The news from The New York Times reveals that Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota, chosen as Vice President Kamala Harris's running mate, has enacted policies that stand against the righteous path laid out by Our Lord. First and foremost, let's address the abhorrent issue of abortion. Walz signed a bill that bolstered the "fundamental right" for Minnesotans to decide upon matters of reproductive health, including abortion (Proverbs 6:17). It's a grievous sin that cries out to heaven for justice. This so-called "autonomy" is an affront to the Creator, who gives life and has sovereignty over it. As it is written in Psalm 139:13, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." The act goes against the very divine ordination of life that each child is given from conception. Moreover, Gov. Walz's endorsement of free college tuition and meals might pander to earthly desires, yet it disregards the scriptural call for hard work and personal responsibility (2 Thessalonians 3:10). The legalization of recreational marijuana further encourages lawlessness and is a deviation from sobriety commanded by Scripture (1 Peter 5:8). Lastly, Walz's support for transgender protections openly defies the biblical understanding of God's creation of man and woman (Genesis 1:27). Our society is increasingly embracing these sin-soaked ideologies that reject God's natural order and divine plan for His creation. Brethren, we must stand firm in truth and righteousness, championing the sanctity of life, upholding the sacred family unit ordained by God, and remaining steadfast against the encroachment of such corrosive and anti-Christian policies in our governance. I urge you, as it states in Ephesians 6:13, to "put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground." We must pray without ceasing for our nation and support those who uphold the principles that this country was founded upon, which align with biblical truths. As we approach the 2024 election, let us discern and choose leaders who fear God, who promote righteousness, and who are unashamed to stand against the tide of moral decay. Consider carefully and let your voice be heard in defense of the values that hold our nation under the grace of the Almighty.
