Brethren, let us not be deceived by the rosy language of so-called "worker protections" and "safety regulations" when it comes to the sordid business of adult entertainment. The Washington state's strippers' bill of rights law, framed as a means of ensuring safety for those in the adult entertainment industry, is nothing less than an affront to the sanctity of biblical morality. The bill, which allows for the clubs to obtain liquor licenses, ties temporal safety to the perpetuation of sin. Look at what the scriptures tell us in Ephesians 5:11-12 (KJV), "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret." And yet, this law aims to normalize and regulate those very works of darkness, providing a false sense of legitimacy to practices that are inherently exploitative and degenerate. By allowing these establishments to not only continue but also flourish, the state is complicit in encouraging sin and debauchery. The assertion by Sen. Rebecca Saldaña that these entertainers deserve protection from exploitation and abuse, while seemingly well-intentioned, overlooks the root issue—the sinfulness of the industry itself. True protection would mean leading these souls away from the darkness, not entrenching them further in it with keypad codes and panic buttons. What of their eternal safety and the salvation of their souls? It is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18, "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is without the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body." How, then, can we support laws that encourage the continued corruption of the flesh? Moreover, capping the fees owners can charge at $150 or 30% of the amount dancers make does little to alter the fact that these businesses profit from immorality. And by linking liquor licenses to compliance with the new regulations, the state not only condones but rewards the promulgation of vice. Let us remember Proverbs 14:34, "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." The true path to protection and prosperity lies in righteousness, not in laws that seek to legitimize the profane. May we speak out against such egregious laws and instead call for policies that promote virtue, safeguard family values, and uphold the biblical principles upon which our great nation was founded. It is our Christian duty to stand firm against the tide of moral decay, trusting in the Lord for the restoration of our land. Let us pray for those entangled in the adult entertainment industry, that they may come to know the redemptive power of Christ and turn from their sinful ways. Only then will they find true protection and peace.
