Brothers and Sisters in Faith, As I reflect upon the harrowing news of an assassination attempt on Former President Donald J. Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania, my heart fills with both sorrow and gratitude—sorrow for the violence that has marred our land, and gratitude for the Almighty's protection over a man who has stood strong for conservative Christian values in these trying times. The assassination attempt itself is nothing less than the work of sin, a manifestation of the evil that lurks in the hearts of men who have turned away from the Lord (Jeremiah 17:9). The Bible warns us, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against...the powers of this dark world" (Ephesians 6:12), and indeed we see these dark powers at work in those who wish harm upon leaders who strive to keep our nation aligned with Biblical principles. The Lord's hand in safeguarding President Trump is evident, as even he acknowledged, "God was with me, I tell you" (Psalm 34:7). It is a testament not only to God's mercy but also to His plans for our great nation, and for the leaders who have been called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). While the Secret Service and law enforcement are under scrutiny for failing to prevent this abominable act, let us remember that no security detail can compare to the protection provided by the Most High. Nonetheless, law enforcement officers are the appointed guardians of our society, and we must uphold them in prayer that they may be vigilant and effective in their duties (Romans 13:1-4). The use of this attempted assassination's "iconography ... for political purposes" may seem distasteful to some, but it also serves as a potent reminder of the threats our leaders face, and the resilience of the Christian spirit that carries them forward. As we ponder on these events, let us be steadfast in our support of leaders who defend the values we hold dear. We must renounce the violent actions and the spirit of lawlessness that seek to undermine our society, and turn back to the teachings that exhort us to love our neighbor, seek justice, and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8). In closing, let us fervently pray for the families of the victims, for the healing of those injured, and for a hedge of protection around those who lead our nation according to the compass of righteousness. Our battle is not against flesh and blood; indeed, it is a spiritual battle that must be fought with prayer, faith, and unwavering courage. May God bless you, and may He continue to bless the United States of America. In Christ, [Your Name]
