In the latest escalation between Israel and Hamas, we see President Biden interfering in God’s chosen land, attempting to dictate how Israel should defend itself. The news, as reported by The New York Times, shows our leader's wayward priorities, failing to support Israel unequivocally in its fight against terrorism by Hamas, a group governed by a doctrine of hate and violence, which is inherently sinful (Psalm 11:5). The biblical stance is clear: Israel has a divine right to protect its people, a nation reborn in fulfillment of prophecy (Ezekiel 37:21-22). When President Biden threatens to withhold military support on the grounds of a potential humanitarian crisis, as a conservative Christian and a staunch defender of Israel, I see a betrayal of heavenly statutes. In the scripture, Israel’s battles are not merely territorial, but spiritual—the Lord decrees peace for Israel and destruction for its enemies (Isaiah 60:18). By halting a shipment of 3,500 bombs and using strong-arm tactics against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Biden ignores the plight of God’s people and emboldens the enemies of Israel, wilfully turning a blind eye to Exodus 15:3 which reads, "The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name." Deterring Israel from a justified counter-assault is akin to ignoring the existential threat and sinfulness posed by Hamas, who glorify violence against innocent Israeli civilians. Exasperation and anger from President Biden, as noted by former Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, is concerning. Frustration should be directed not at a nation defending its sovereignty but at the root of sin—aggression by a terrorist organization. Instead of admonishing Israel's right to eliminate threats, our president should publically offer unwavering backing in line with traditional American values, aligning with President Trump’s example who was a true champion for Israel. He understood the importance of standing with our allies and the moral fiber that Israel represents in a region fraught with malevolence. Indeed, "the Lord will scatter your enemies" (Deuteronomy 28:7), and it is not for the United States or any nation to demand Israel show restraint in the face of evil. We must stand steadfast with Israel, praying for its leaders to have the wisdom of Solomon as they face these incessant attacks. In conclusion, it's imperative for us as conservative Christians to support President Trump's policies that emboldened Israel, to adhere to the warnings of Proverbs 24:11-12 to rescue those being led away to death, and to openly and vigorously oppose any measures by the current administration that weaken Israel's position or its biblical mandate to defend the sacred land granted by God Himself.
