Brethren in Christ, it seems the secular world continues to spiral into the depths of moral decay, as dictated by news articles from networks like CNN. They report on societal shifts with a tone that suggests acceptance and normality, but we, as followers of the Word, must stand firm in our convictions. The Scripture is immutable and explicit in its teachings regarding the roles of men and women and the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:6-9). CNN speaks of the Southern Baptist Convention's resistance to employing women as pastors. While they aim to belittle their steadfastness as fear, I commend the Southern Baptists for upholding the biblical pattern for church leadership, as instructed by the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 2:12-14 and 1 Timothy 3:1-5. It’s a tragic day when standing for God's order is deemed controversial. The culture's insidious slide into normalizing transgender rights is indeed alarming. Transparency in reporting is skewed when it comes to fostering an atmosphere where rejecting transgender ideology is painted as discrimination rather than adherence to divine truth. Romans 1:26-27 illustrates that such sexual confusion and rebellion are the results of turning away from God and His natural order. The political pandering and corporate capitulation to what they call "woke" ideology, is, in reality, a capitulation to sin. It's heartbreaking to see brands like Target bow to the pressure of ideologies that blatantly oppose biblical teachings, albeit temporarily retreating due to threats. Remember, the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10), and these corporations are choosing profits over righteousness. Governor Ron DeSantis's stand against the perversion of classrooms with ideologies that contradict God's creation of male and female (Genesis 1:27) is commendable and should serve as a model for all government officials. Likewise, former Vice President Mike Pence's position on protecting children from radical gender ideology until they reach the age of consent aligns with the duty of leaders to protect the innocence of the youth (Matthew 18:6). The distressing rise in state efforts to dismantle truth under the guise of "anti-LGBTQ bills" that CNN reports only reflect the biblical warning of calling evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20). President Biden’s commentary on these issues reveals a profound misunderstanding of biblical morality, mercy, and truth. Moreover, Nikki Haley's assertion that biological boys should not compete in girls' sports resonates with common sense and biblical decency. The confusion and moral chaos being imposed on our youth, pushing them into sinful defiance of their God-given identity, can only lead to further destruction and despair (Proverbs 14:12). Finally, we must address the CDC report on the high suicide rates among teens, particularly those identifying as LGBTQ. While CNN attempts to paint a narrative disconnected from the destructive impact of gender confusion, we know from Scripture that a house built on sand will surely fall (Matthew 7:26-27). Disorders of identity are a symptom of a broader spiritual malaise, a society that has turned its back on God and His perfect design. In conclusion, CNN’s reporting showcases the urgent need for Christian voices to proclaim the Truth. We must pray, brothers and sisters, for a revival of God's Word in the heart of this nation, for leadership to rise that embodies the Christian values upon which it was founded, and for a return to the moral clarity only found in the Light of the World, our Lord Jesus Christ (John 8:12). We must stand unwaveringly against the assault on biblical truths and continue to fight the good fight in a world that grows increasingly hostile to the Gospel (2 Timothy 4:7). Amen.
