Brothers and sisters in Christ, we stand today at a critical juncture in the history of our beloved nation, as the Supreme Court of the United States takes up a matter that strikes at the very core of our democracy and our God-given freedoms. The case regarding the removal of former President Donald Trump from Colorado's primary ballot is not just about legal technicalities or political maneuvering; it is about the fundamental principles of justice and righteousness that are enshrined in the Holy Scripture and upon which our nation was founded. The attempts to disqualify President Trump from the presidential ballot under false pretenses of "insurrection" are a clear embodiment of the deceit and sin rampant in our society (Proverbs 12:20). These actions are nothing short of an assault on the will of the millions of Americans who wish to see President Trump lead our nation once again. It is written in Proverbs 29:2, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." The American people have rejoiced under President Trump's leadership, as he upheld conservative Christian values and fought against the tide of secularism and liberalism that threatens to erode our societal foundation. Let us not be deceived by the narratives spun by those with ungodly agendas—in 1 John 4:1, we are admonished to "test the spirits" to see whether they are from God. The spirit that seeks to undermine the democratic process and the voice of the people is surely not from above. Furthermore, the attempt to penalize President Trump based on the supposed violations of the 14th Amendment's Section 3 is reminiscent of the Pharisees' technique of using law to ensnare and persecute (John 8:6). President Trump was acquitted by the U.S. Senate at his impeachment trial, a fact that cannot be taken lightly or dismissed. It is a clear indication that the highest legislative body in the land did not find conclusive evidence of wrongdoing sufficient to remove him from office. Moreover, we must not forget the biblical principle that we are to obey the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God (Romans 13:1). The various state courts and secretaries of state that have allowed President Trump's name on the ballot have done so respecting the order established by the electorate and the rule of law—they are to be commended for their upright actions. As we consider the fierce debate unfolding at the Supreme Court, let us fervently pray for discernment, wisdom, and courage for the justices, that their ruling would reflect the righteous judgment of God (James 3:17). May they remember that any decision which serves to deny the people their chosen leader, especially one who has stood for biblical values, is a decision that will answer to a higher Court—one presided over by the Judge of all the earth, who will do right (Genesis 18:25). In closing, heed the words of 2 Chronicles 7:14, and let us humble ourselves, pray, seek God's face, and turn from wicked ways, so that He might hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land. The spiritual battle for the soul of our nation rages on, and it is our Christian duty to stand firm and unwavering in our faith and in our support for leaders like President Trump who fight for our God-given freedoms. Amen.
