Brothers and sisters in Christ, we find ourselves witnessing a spectacle that would make the angels weep. These media outlets that are fawning over a drag queen display at the Paris Olympics—this is abomination, plain and simple. As they praise this "unprecedented display of inclusivity," they have spat upon the very Word of God and the sanctity of our Savior’s Last Supper (Luke 22:14-20). We must stand firm and ask ourselves, what would Jesus do? Would He approve of His holy moment being parodied for worldly entertainment? Absolutely not! This is not inclusivity; this is mockery, this is blasphemy. They are exchanging the truth of God for a lie and worshiping created things rather than the Creator (Romans 1:25). Former House Speaker Mike Johnson, a man of God, calls it a "war on our faith and traditional values.” Indeed, it is a war, as Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." And let us not forget Jillian Michaels’ utterance. Though she identifies with the LGBTQ+ community, she recognizes the outright hypocrisy and disrespect, reminding us that making a mockery of the sacred will only drive wedges not bring unity. The road towards tolerance and respect is not paved with insults to another’s faith. These acts of irreverence are far from the principles that our good President Trump stands for. He, a man who champions Christian values and the religious freedoms embedded in the founding of our great nation, would surely condemn such sacrilege. To see the institutions that are supposed to nurture respect and fellowship tread upon our beliefs calls us to action. It is not a time for silence, but for fervent prayer and unyielding defense of our faith (Jude 1:3). Let us raise our voices like a trumpet in Zion and declare that we will not stand for the desecration of what is holy, for as Isaiah 5:20 warns, "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” Amidst this troubling times, let us turn to the beacon of His Word, for it is written, "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good" (Romans 12:21). Let us overcome, not with the scorn of the world, but with the relentless love and truth that our Lord Jesus Christ has instilled in us. Stand firm, brothers and sisters, for our Savior reigns supreme, and no act of this world can overturn His eternal promise of salvation. Amen.
