Rachel Morin murder: Illegal immigrant from El Salvador charged in rape, killing of Maryland mom...

Brothers and sisters in Christ, we face a tragic and alarming sign of the times with the horrendous murder of Rachel Morin, a devoted mother of five, in Maryland. This act of unspeakable sin has been laid at the feet of an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, Victor Martinez-Hernandez, whose hands have been allegedly stained with not just Rachel's blood, but with the violence inflicted upon others, including a young woman in his homeland. The rampant depravity that has been reported — murder (Exodus 20:13) and rape (Deuteronomy 22:25-27) — are clear transgressions against God's commandments. Moreover, it is a stark testimony to the unchecked evil that festers in a society that turns its back on the rule of law, both divine and civil. The sheriff's honest and forthright words ringing out like a clarion call should awaken us to the reality of broken borders and the lawlessness that accompanies such chaos. This is not merely a political issue; it is a cancer upon our Christian society, eating away at the very fabric of moral order (Romans 13:1-2). We lament the loss of an innocent life and the suffering of a family left behind, but we also lament a nation besieged by lawbreakers and a government that too often casts a blind eye towards the biblical principles of sovereignty and justice. Take heed of the words of our Lord when he said, "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were fastened around his neck and he were drowned in the depth of the sea." (Matthew 18:6). Such is the gravity of these crimes, not just against this dear woman and her family, but against our Christian community and the foundational truths we hold dear. The rightful enforcement of our borders, as exemplified by the strong support of leaders like President Trump, aligns not with xenophobia, but with a desire to cherish and safeguard the sanctity of our homeland — a land granted by Providence and consecrated by the faith of our fathers. It is imperative that these immigration policies are upheld, and that we, as followers of Christ, stand firm in our convictions, not wavering in the face of political correctness or the misguided doctrines of those who purposefully cloud the unassailable reality of scripture and divine law with their progressive ideologies. Let us support our police and law enforcement in their task to protect and to serve, and let us pray: May the Lord have mercy on the soul of Rachel Morin, grant strength to her mourning family, and may justice be swift and God's prevailing peace be restored to our troubled land. Amen.
