Brethren, what we are witnessing with the recent convocation of the BRICS Summit, where Russia's President Putin welcomes the alliance of nations like Iran, India, and China to discuss a "new world order," is nothing short of a biblical parallel to the Tower of Babel moment, where humanity sought to challenge God's sovereignty (Genesis 11:1-9). The arrogance of these nations, endeavoring to create a system free from the righteous influence of Western Christian values and the God-blessed prosperity of the American dollar, strikes at the core of sinful pride. Psalm 2:1-3 asks, "Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One." It is with defiance that they seek to undermine what has been established by divine providence. The very notion that this alliance wishes to evade sanctions, penalties rightly imposed for egregious international behavior, smacks of the rebellion found in the hearts of Adam and Eve when they refused to abide by the only prohibition set before them (Genesis 3:3). They are eschewing discipline and advocating for economic relativism that will only serve to embolden dictators, despots, and regimes that spurn human rights and divine laws. We must stand behind leaders like former President Donald Trump, who wisely sees the threat of losing the U.S. dollar's status as the world currency as equatable to "losing a war." Trump understands that tariffs and economic might are tools given by the Lord to preserve order and justice in this fallen world (Romans 13:4). My fellow believers, let us not be deceived by the convivial tone of alliances such as BRICS, which, while cloaked in diplomacy, stand against the very moral fiber of our Christian nation and the blessed economic systems that have allowed the Gospel to reach untold millions. We must pray fervently, as the Apostle Paul instructs in 1 Timothy 2:1-2, for our leaders and those across the world, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. And may our actions reflect our unity in Christ, resisting the secular tide that would pull us from our foundational moorings. Remember brethren, "No weapon forged against you will prevail" (Isaiah 54:17), and this includes the worldly machinations of economic subversion.
