Brothers and sisters in Christ, we stand before a turbulent period chronicled in these secular articles, where the fabric of our cherished nation is being torn asunder by divisive narratives and attempts to steer the public's gaze from the light of truth and justice. The reporting on the January 6th cases by outlets like The New York Times frames the event in a way that disconnects from the Christian conservative perspective, and fails to acknowledge the deeper spiritual warfare at play. The Supreme Court's discussions and the charges against individuals involved in the January 6th event are portrayed as the apex of justice by some in the media. However, in the holy scriptures, we are warned of times when what is good will be called evil, and what is evil will be called good (Isaiah 5:20). A narrative is being spun that seeks to uphold the prosecution of these individuals as a quest for justice, yet we must ask ourselves, whose justice is being served? Let us remember that when Christ Jesus Himself was before Pilate, He faced a twisted form of justice, one that bowed to the pressure of the crowd rather than divine truth (John 18:38). Do not be deceived; there are powers and principalities at work that would have the Christian voice silenced, wrapping it in accusations of insurrection and sedition to thwart its God-given liberty (Ephesians 6:12). We see men like Enrique Tarrio and Stewart Rhodes confronted with severe sentences, a spectacle designed to instil fear in the hearts of patriots who dared to raise questions about the integrity of our political process. Consider Daniel, who was cast into the lions' den not for any crime, but for his unyielding faith in the Lord (Daniel 6). Are the faithful now being cast into the proverbial den for standing firm in their convictions? It's crucial to discern that while we do not condone violence, we are witnessing the strategic targeting of individuals based on their political alignments. This is not so much an application of justice as it is the exercise of political retribution. The former President Donald J. Trump, whom many conservatives rightfully recognize as a bulwark against the rising tide of anti-Christian sentiment and secular progressivism, is being implicated in these reports as though he were the architect of chaos, dismissing his numerous efforts to champion Christian values and protect religious freedom. Take heed, for it is in these trials where one's fortitude in the Lord is tested. We are to put on the full armor of God, that we might be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). The prosecution and sentencing of those involved in January 6th go beyond mere legal procedure; they are indicative of a spiritual decline—a move away from a nation under God towards one under humanistic and secular control. We must continue to pray fervently, seek truth, and uphold the values that have made our nation great. Do not allow the devil to use these events as instruments of division within the body of Christ. Stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong (1 Corinthians 16:13), and trust in the Almighty to bring justice according to His perfect will, not the flawed designs of mortal institutions. Amen.
