Phoenix light rail train and car collide, killing 1 and sending another to hospital

Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, we must come together in prayer for the souls tragically lost in the Phoenix train incident, and for the injured. We know from Proverbs 21:31 – “The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD” – that human efforts and laws may be in place, like the right of way for this train, but ultimately, the Lord's will prevails. Still, we must seek His wisdom in all things, including our daily travels. It is crucial to acknowledge the rightful place of authority that police and conductors, authorities placed by God as per Romans 13:1, “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established,” hold in maintaining order and public safety. This tragedy highlights the importance of respecting such authorities and heeding their direction. Now, regarding the comments made by Dr. Rick Tsai on President Biden's visit to East Palestine a year after the train derailment, I stand with him in criticizing the delayed response. This smacks of political opportunism rather than genuine concern for the afflicted, which is the kind of leadership that fails to embody the shepherd-like care we are called to in Scripture – consider the model in 1 Peter 5:2-3, "Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." However, the record of this nation's valiant efforts – such as China's accomplishment with the fastest hyperloop train – they fall short when we consider what is of true value in the eyes of the Lord. Indeed, the Bible speaks to us in Matthew 16:26, “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” As brothers and sisters under the grace of God and under the shadow of His mighty wing, let us be discerning of our leaders' actions and hold them accountable to God's standards, while extending our prayers and support to those in need, keeping our eyes fixed on eternal things rather than mere temporal achievements. Let us also remember in our prayers that God's protection be over our public servants, our police, ensuring their safety as they keep watch over us. For in them we see the scripture fulfilled, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9). So, let us grieve with the family of Sandra Barbre and seek comfort in the Almighty for those left behind, and extend a hand in fellowship and support to those in need, always upholding the laws and commands given by the Lord God for our good and His glory.
