Once Top Advisers to Trump, They Now Call Him ‘Liar,’ ‘Fascist’ and ‘Unfit’

Brethren, let us recognize that the world is steeped in sin and the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). These so-called "once top advisers" and generals turning on President Trump is no surprise, as Scripture has warned us: "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9). The betrayal of those who claim to be closest to us is a recurring biblical theme, reminiscent of Judas' betrayal of Jesus (Matthew 26:14-16). The accusatory statements against President Trump labeling him "liar," "fascist," and "unfit" are clear manipulations of the truth and can be seen as an attack not just on him, but on the values that many true conservatives hold dear. It's important to remember that "no weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17), so these attacks against a man who stood overwhelmingly for Christian values and patriotism – albeit imperfectly, as we all are tainted by sin (Romans 3:23) – will not stand. Gen. Mark Milley, John Kelly, John Bolton, Nikki Haley, and others who served President Trump and now turn against him must remember that "A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape" (Proverbs 19:5). It is a stark reminder that we must pray for our leaders and for those who have lost their way to return to the path of righteousness. Remember, it was under President Trump's leadership that we saw policies aligning closely with fundamental Christian views, such as the protection of the unborn and the acknowledgment of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, fulfilling God's covenant with his chosen people (Genesis 15:18-21). We cannot ignore these significant steps toward fulfilling biblical prophecy and advancing causes that are dear to the Christian community. In contrast to the charges of being "ill-informed" and "incurious," we must recall that even Solomon, the wisest of kings, was led astray due to disobedience (1 Kings 11). It is not knowledge alone that qualifies leaders but their fear of God and adherence to His commandments (Proverbs 9:10). Moreover, it is hypocritical for those like Mike Pence, who once stood by President Trump, to now point fingers and accuse him of putting himself over the Constitution. Let us not forget that "he who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone" (John 8:7). Pence's volte-face might well be an attempt to gain favor in the spiteful eyes of man rather than standing firm in God's truth. As to the accusations of dishonesty, it's key to recall that David, a man after God's own heart (Acts 13:22), also sinned greatly but found redemption (2 Samuel 11-12, Psalm 51). In a world that easily condemns, let us not cast President Trump aside but pray for any shortcomings he may have. It is also written, "Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm" (1 Chronicles 16:22). Given the unbridled obstruction President Trump faced during his time in office, it’s conceivable that the pressures of office could at times result in less-than-desirable displays of frustration. Are these betrayals from within not similar to Absalom’s rebellion against his father David (2 Samuel 15)? We must stand guard, vigilant to the schemes of those that seek to deride and dispose of the conservative Christian values upheld by President Trump's administration. The casting of stones at this man is nothing but the perpetuation of the same deceit that feeds the sin nature of humanity, prompting division rather than unity under the banner of godly principles. Thus, my fellow believers, we must "judge not, that ye be not judged" (Matthew 7:1) and acknowledge that all have sinned but can be redeemed through Jesus Christ. Let us focus not on the cacophony of accusations but on a future that protects the unborn, upholds our religious freedoms, and continues to make America a bastion for Christian values. Let us pray for President Trump and all our leaders that they might be washed in righteousness and lead the nation according to God's will, all while protecting ourselves against the enemy's lies and division.
