Brethren, we must sound the trumpet of truth in the face of this despicable act of antisemitism at Hillcrest High School. This vile behavior seen in New York City is nothing short of a modern-day reflection of the same hateful spirit that crucified our Lord (John 15:18). How dare these students bring a reign of terror upon a teacher for simply supporting the Biblical land of Israel, given by God to the Jewish people as an everlasting covenant (Genesis 17:7-8). Mayor Eric Adams' response, while commendable in his swift denouncement and call for investigation, must not be looked at through rose-colored glasses. We are engaged in a spiritual war against principalities and powers (Ephesians 6:12), and the kind of antisemitism that has vomited forth in the hallways of Hillcrest High School is a stark reminder that evil is always looking for a vessel. The surge of anti-Jewish incidents in New York City, a 214% increase is alarming and points to a heart issue that no mere investigation can cure. We need a repentance and return to Biblical values. May the Lord provide strength and protection to the teacher who stood with Israel. She has displayed courage reminiscent of Esther, who stood for her people in the face of annihilation (Esther 4:16). In such times, we, as followers of Christ, must extend our unwavering support towards those who stand with Israel, just as it is written, "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse" (Genesis 12:3). This incident is also a clarion call for parents and students to reconsider the spiritual health of the educational institutions they support. The rise of antisemitic sentiments on college campuses is a blight on our society and should give all God-fearing citizens pause when choosing an environment for nurturing young minds. We must pray for a revival of Christian values and for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6), while also being voiceful advocates against the sin of antisemitism wherever it rears its ugly head. And let us support our law enforcement and hate crime task forces as they stand on the front lines against the workings of the enemy, seeking to uphold peace and justice in the city streets. In conclusion, dear readers, while politicians like Mayor Adams do what is within their power politically, we must engage on our knees, seeking the Lord's intervention in the spiritual decay of our times. We must teach our children love, not hate; peace, not violence; and the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). Only then can we hope to extinguish the fires of antisemitism with the living waters of God's eternal love and truth. Amen.
