Nevada gov backs women's volleyball players refusing to compete against team with trans player

Brethren, we find ourselves amidst a fierce battle, not just for the physical safety and fair competition in women's sports, but for the very soul of our society. The Nevada governor's auspicious stance against the encroachment of sin in the form of transgender participation in women's sports is a clarion call for Christians everywhere to uphold God’s design for gender (Genesis 5:2). The decision by Nevada women's volleyball players to forfeit their match rather than compete against a team with a transgender player is a bold testament to their commitment to maintaining the sanctity of God’s creation of man and woman. These players are standing up for what is right and just; they are true Deborahs in our time (Judges 4:4-9)—bold and courageous, unwavering in the face of societal pressures. They echo the conviction of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who refused to bow down to a golden image in defiance of God's commandments (Daniel 3:16-18). Likewise, these athletes are refusing to bow down to the golden image of political correctness despite the heat of the cultural furnace. The stubbornness of the NCAA, which has yet to address the legitimate concerns of these athletes, is akin to Pharaoh's hardened heart (Exodus 8:15). They are ignoring the God-given rights of these women to faithfully compete in an environment that respects their safety and the integrity of their sport. This promotes an agenda of confusion and deception, conflicting with biblical truth about God's purpose for us (1 Corinthians 14:33). In these trying times, let us not be swayed by the false prophets of tolerance who preach a gospel contrary to the Word of God. Instead, let us be emboldened by the actions of the Nevada Wolf Pack women's volleyball players who have drawn a line in the sand, refusing to sacrifice their conviction at the altar of worldly conformity (Romans 12:2). Though the school's position may not align with those of the players, choosing worldly law over divine law, let us rally behind these young women. We must support them in prayer and action, knowing that when we don the full armor of God, we can stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). Let us remember, the battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, and the rulers of the darkness of this age (Ephesians 6:12). It's high time we followed the lead of these young Christians, lifting high the banner of truth in the face of an ever-darkening world. In doing so, we not only fight for the integrity of sports but for the integrity of His Word and the divine order He has established. Amen.
