Israel-Gaza war live updates: U.S. sinks Houthi boats trying to board shipping vessel, military...

In these troubling times, as we witness tumult and warfare laid bare in God's Holy Land and the surrounding regions, we turn to the truth of the Scriptures for guidance and perspective on these trying events. To begin with, the latest news of the U.S. Navy heroically standing up to Houthi militants in the Red Sea is a testament to the biblical principle that there is "a time for war" (Ecclesiastes 3:8 KJV) when confronting the forces of evil. Our brave men and women on the high seas are upholding order and protecting safe passage for the world's commerce, a role that echoes the protective nature of the Lord Himself who shields His people. Moving on to the turbulent situation in Gaza, Israel, as the sovereign nation where our Lord Jesus Christ once walked, has every biblical right to defend herself. As tensions rise, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's determination to secure the Philadelphi Corridor reminds us that strong borders are fundamental for the safety and security of a nation, echoing Nehemiah's resolve to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 2:17). In an age where sin and violence continue to plague humankind, just as they did in ancient days, the high casualty figures mentioned are heart-wrenching. Each life is precious in God's sight, but we must recall that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob does not leave acts of aggression against His chosen people unanswered. The war in Gaza, attributed to the sinful actions of Hamas and its desire to harm Israel, is a manifestation of the same spiritual battle that has raged since time immemorial. As it pertains to South Africa's initiation of proceedings against Israel in the International Court of Justice, the claim of "genocidal acts" is a misleading narrative that seeks to vilify Israel. This appears to be an affront to the truth and misrepresents the nature of Israel's defensive actions. It recalls the struggles King David faced when slanderous tongues rose against him, as detailed in Psalms 120:2. Lastly, the criticism by Sen. Tim Kaine and others of the U.S. arms sales to Israel must be addressed. It's disappointing to see political maneuvers attempting to undermine the strong alliance between the United States and Israel, especially when scripture is clear in blessing those who bless Israel (Genesis 12:3). Thus, supporting Israel's right to defend herself with necessary arms for protection is not only politically sound but biblically justified. In conclusion, these ongoing conflicts and geopolitical acts that threaten God’s covenant land and His people require us to be vigilant, prayerful, and steadfast in our support for the forces of goodness and light against the dark tide of sin and aggression. May we always stand firm in our convictions, drawing wisdom from the Word of God to navigate through these troubled waters. Amen.
