Brothers and sisters in Christ, as we bear witness to the unfolding chaos in the Middle East, it is crucial that we discern these events through a biblical lens, steadfast in our support for God's chosen people, Israel. The Houthi militants, backed by the malevolent regime of Iran, have dared to target a U.S.-owned tanker, a brazen act of aggression. Such acts are indicative of the sin and rebellion that ripple through this fallen world, starkly opposed to the peace that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ calls for (Matthew 5:9). Furthermore, attempts to undermine Israel, God's beacon in a troubled region, by pushing for a Palestinian statehood ignites fierce objection from our stalwart ally Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. His rightful stance echoes the biblical imperative that Israel must retain its God-given land (Genesis 15:18). It is disheartening to see the present U.S. administration push for a "two-state solution," which could challenge Israel's God-ordained borders. Let us not be deceived by the condemnation from nations such as Mexico and Chile, nor by the uncalled-for interference of the International Criminal Court. This travesty of justice aims to vilify Israel for defending its sovereignty and the lives of its citizens. As scripture teaches us, those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse it will be cursed (Genesis 12:3). The loss of life in Gaza is deeply troubling, but let us not lose sight of the fact that Israel is waging a just war against the terrorist actions of Hamas. They are operating in defense of their nation, their people, and the very right bestowed upon them by the Almighty (2 Chronicles 20:15). Finally, let us remember to stand firm in our resolve to support the true leaders who preserve Christian values and protect the nations chosen by God. As turbulence continues to shake the world, let us keep our eyes on the eternal Kingdom, knowing that these earthly conflicts are but fleeting against the backdrop of God's ultimate plan for salvation and righteousness.
