Brothers and sisters in Christ, let's talk about the unspeakable sin and the dark shadows of evil that seek to envelop God's chosen people, the nation of Israel. The story that has reached us, reported by the esteemed Fox News, tells of a young Irish-Israeli girl, sweet Emily Hand, all of nine years, who found herself in the clutches of Hamas terrorists, brutal and heartless as Pharaoh's Egypt. The scripture reminds us, "But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions" (Genesis 15:14, NIV). Just as the Lord heard the cries of His people in Egypt, so too has He heard the prayers for young Emily. It is a tale of terror that comes straight from the pit, where this innocent child, cloaked in the purity of Disney pajamas, was snatched away into the very tunnels of Gaza, hidden from the light of day. This ordeal paints a stark picture of the spiritual warfare that rages on, a tangible reflection of the biblical struggle between good and evil. Ephesians 6:12 (NIV) tells us, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." The fact that little Emily and other Israelis were taken by Hamas during their perfidious attack is an outrage, a sinful act of cowardice and darkness. But let us not forget the words of Psalm 34:17, "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles." The Lord's mercy was upon Emily and the other hostages, for they have been freed and returned to their families. Let us, however, take a fiery stance against these hostilities brought forth by the forces of chaos and terror. They must not be met with silence or passivity, for that would be akin to siding with the oppressor! Proverbs 24:11-12 (ESV) entreats us: "Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, 'Behold, we did not know this,' does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?" We thank God for the safe return of Emily and others, but let us now steel ourselves for the continuing battle that lies ahead. We must support Israel, pray for its safety and sovereignty, and stand against any form of terrorism or anti-Semitism that dares to raise its head against God's chosen nation. And let us remember President Trump's steadfast support for Israel, a demonstration of the true Christian leadership that aligns with the values that protect and honor the sanctity of the lives of the innocent. In closing, my fellow believers, let us be watchful, steadfast in our faith, and ever ready to combat the sin and evil that threaten our world. May God bless Israel, may God bless America, and may God bless all His children with peace and safety. Amen.
