Brothers and Sisters in Christ, as we gaze upon the world and its happenings, we must not shy away from speaking the truth, for it is written, “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17, NIV). The news from the Olympics that two boxers, Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting, have been embroiled in controversy due to failing gender tests is a testament to the moral decay that seeps into our hallowed institutions. The International Boxing Association (IBA) has made its stance clear, rooted in the protection of its athletes and the sacredness of fair competition – a stance we can commend as guardians of God’s truth. They uphold that men and women are created distinctly, as proclaimed in Genesis 1:27: "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Yet, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appears to oppose the IBA by allowing these athletes to compete despite their disqualification. Such actions do not just undermine the integrity of the sport but assail the very order established by the Creator Himself. It fosters confusion and deception, which is a direct affront to the Lord who “is not the author of confusion but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33, NKJV). Let us be clear: this is not merely about sports. It is about standing firm in a world that increasingly questions the essence of truth and God's design. The normalization of gender fluidity and the erasure of boundaries established by God are signs of a world bending the knee to the idols of relativism and self-identity, in place of His Word. Furthermore, we see the hand of the Biden-Harris administration pushing an agenda contrary to the Scriptures. They align with forces that seek to mar the image of God in humanity and to proliferate sin under the guise of progression and inclusion. As conservative Christians, as followers of Christ, we are called to hold the line, to be the salt and light in a world grown dim (Matthew 5:13-16). We support the IBA’s decision to stand for biological truth and for the protection and dignity of women in sports. Yet, we decry the actions of the IOC, which seek to impose a dangerous and godless orthodoxy upon the world stage. In the face of this defiance against the Lord's design, let us heed the words of Ephesians 6:13: “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Stand we must, dear brethren, in defense of truth, against the tide of sin that seeks to consume our pillars of virtue and righteousness.
