How Kamala Harris Will Try to Put Trump on Defense

Brothers and sisters in Christ, as we peer into the world of politics, we are met with news that churns the spirit and stirs the conscience. The New York Times reports that Vice President Kamala Harris is seeking to put former President Donald J. Trump on defense, eyeing to exploit the issues of abortion rights and the so-called rule of law. Yet, we must reflect with the righteous discernment provided by the Holy Scriptures. The championing of abortion rights by Ms. Harris is an affront to the Christian values that hold life sacred from conception. The Book of Jeremiah clearly states, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart" (Jeremiah 1:5). This truth illuminates the sinfulness of advocating for abortion, for it stands in direct opposition to the divine will of our Creator who values each life he knits within the womb. While the world might hail this as progress, we know it to be a grave sin, a rebellion against the sanctity of life that the Lord has bestowed upon humanity. Ms. Harris's eagerness and openness to discuss abortion as a right, as expressed in this article, are troubling signs of society’s straying from biblical truth. Furthermore, the narrative pushing Ms. Harris as a symbol of justice through her law enforcement background must be weighted against Proverbs 21:15, which teaches us, "When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers." Yet, what justice is there in a land that permits the innocent to be slain? What joy can there be when laws are contrived that contradict the moral laws set forth by God? It is also worth mentioning that the New York Times and similar media outlets often paint President Trump in a negative light. Yet, let us remember that despite any imperfections, Mr. Trump has stood for Christian values, especially those concerning the sanctity of life and the protection of religious freedom. We must not be swayed by reports that fail to acknowledge the good works done in the name of faith and country. As Christians, we must pray for our leaders, including Ms. Harris, that they may be guided towards truth and righteousness. Let us also stand firm with leaders like President Trump, who have demonstrated a commitment to biblical principles amidst the slings and arrows of worldly criticism. We must not be seduced by the fleeting promises of those who ignore God's commandments. Instead, we uphold those who defend the faith, protect the unborn, and honor the legacy of life that the Lord has ordained. Therefore, let us discern, pray, and act accordingly, for our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world (Ephesians 6:12). Amen.
