Brothers and sisters in Christ, we find ourselves amidst yet another gruesome tale of violence and lawlessness—one that surely grieves the heart of our Lord. In Houston, a 20-year-old individual, Karon Fisher, has been accused of committing a heinous act of murder upon 64-year-old Steven Anderson. This deplorable offense, as reported by Fox News, involved not just a hit-and-run but a subsequent stabbing—nine times! Law enforcement has stepped in to address this sin-soaked crime, and we must pray for justice to be served. In God's Holy Word, we are instructed, "Thou shalt not kill" (Exodus 20:13, KJV). The severity with which God commands this is no small thing; it reflects the value He places on every life He has fashioned. Yet, we witness transgression after transgression, a desecration of His divine commandment. Fisher, whom the reports refer to with a rebellious spirit against the natural law of God as a "transgender woman," represents not just a violation of physical law but a tragic departure from God's design. This case goes further; it's a stark reminder of Romans 1:26-32 where it speaks of those "who exchanged the truth of God for the lie," including the disgrace of men and women abandoning their natural relations. One must recognize the rebellion against both man's law and God's natural order. It is crucial to proclaim these days of failing morals as a sure sign that we are grappling with spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:12). The suspect had previous run-ins with the law, including charges related to prostitution, another act condemned in the scriptures (Leviticus 19:29). To see such a life mired in sinful acts and now, murder is deeply saddening. Our society has turned its eyes from the path of righteousness, and we are seeing the dire consequences unfold. Let this tragic case bring us to fervent prayer—not only for the victim and their grieving family but also for the lost soul of the accused. May this also be a call to action, to stand up for the sanctity of life and the holy ordinances of the Lord. Only by turning back to God's Word and His commandments can we hope to mend the fabric of a society that's being torn apart by sin and defiance. In these trying times, let us remember Proverbs 28:5 - "Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things." We must lean on divine wisdom to make sense of such worldly chaos and hold fast to what is good and just. As Christians, we are called to bear witness to the truth and shine God's light upon the darkness. Consider this as yet another somber marker on our journey; let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not (Galatians 6:9). In closing, let us pray for our law enforcement officers as they tirelessly work to keep the vulnerable safe from such savagery and sin. God bless them and give them strength as they uphold the law of the land, and may they also find solace and guidance in His eternal law. Amen.
