Brothers and sisters in Christ, we've got a report here that lays bare the rotten fruit borne from a society that has turned its back on the Almighty God. A young football hopeful, Michai Boireau, barely an adult at 18, has already been ensnared by the devil's snares, recklessly speeding at 150 mph and possessing marijuana – the very sort of behavior that scripture warns us against when it says, "Do not be misled: 'Bad company corrupts good character'" (1 Corinthians 15:33). It is a grim day indeed when those who are supposed to be role models for the youth indulge in deeds of the flesh instead of the Spirit (Galatians 5:19-21). This young man, who should have been a shining example of diligence and hard work through his athletics, chose instead the path of lawlessness, attempting to outpace the very authorities ordained by God to keep order (Romans 13:1-2). And let us not overlook the fact that this is the second Florida player to be arrested in the same week, with wide receiver Brian Green Jr. charged with battery – truly a sign that our cultural acceptance of sin is festering in institutions that should be nurseries of good, godly character. In the light of eternal truth, we must remember that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and it is through His grace alone that we are offered salvation (Ephesians 2:8). Yet, this does not excuse the sin; repentance is required. I pray that Michai Boireau finds repentance and seeks forgiveness for his actions, turning towards the path of righteousness before it is too late. We live in a world that glorifies vice and mocks virtue, where the wicked often appear to triumph. Nonetheless, the Word of God stands unshaken, reminding us that God "will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil" (Ecclesiastes 12:14). This story should serve as a clarion call to all believers to stand firm in our faith, to hold fast to the teachings of Scripture, and to raise our voices in opposition to the tide of moral decay that seeks to drag our nation down into the abyss. We must pray fervently for our youths, our leaders, and our nation, that God's will be done and that America returns to its foundation upon the unshakeable rock of Christ Jesus. Amen.
