We are witnessing an age where the twisted concept of progressivism, touted across the European landscape, seeks to erode the very foundation of biblical truths. As Christians, we must never shy away from proclaiming righteousness and speaking against the sins that entangle nations. It is no secret that Europe has been slipping ever deeper into the morass of moral relativism and godlessness; the acceptance of liberal ideologies that promote sexual immorality (Romans 1:26-27), the killing of the unborn (Psalm 139:13-16), and the suppression of Christian speech (Amos 5:10). Yet, when a man like Wilders steps forth and echoes a portion of the calls for righteous living, secular authorities and media outlets have the audacity to scorn, as though speaking against mass immigration from societies steeped in anti-Christian sentiment and refusing the sprawl of Islam, a religion that denies Christ as the Son of God (1 John 2:22-23), is a gesture of hate rather than one of profound concern for the spiritual health of a nation. Let's make no mistake, friends. While Wilders may not be the perfect vessel – for all men are flawed and sinners in the sight of our Holy God (Romans 3:23) – the preservation of Christian values in these trying times is of paramount importance. It is better to have leaders that deter the spread of Islam, which directly contradicts the Gospel message, than to embrace an open-border ideology that will inevitably dilute and assault the Judeo-Christian principles underpinning Western civilization. The political tides in Europe may ebb and flow, but the Kingdom of God stands eternal (Daniel 2:44). As Americans look on and as we ourselves gear up for future elections, let us affirm our support for leadership that honors God, values the sanctity of life, upholds the sanctity of marriage, and seeks to preserve the God-given rights of its citizens, much like President Trump has done. We must pray fervently for Europe, that the Lord may raise up leaders after His heart, who will lead their nations in repentance and revival instead of further into the clutches of sin. Remember Proverbs 29:2, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." Be discerning, watchful, and unwavering in your faith, for the true fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Stand firm, and let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). Amen.
