Driver in China kills 35 people exercising in deliberate attack

Brothers and sisters in Christ, as we observe the world around us, it pains the soul to see such acts of sin and destruction, as recently reported by Fox News regarding a man in China who, by the hands of his fallen nature, has callously ended the lives of 35 individuals (Genesis 6:5). This deliberate attack that took place in Zhuhai, China, where people were innocently exercising, is a vivid reminder of the sinful world we inhabit, one that desperately needs Jesus (Romans 3:23). The darkness of the human heart is further brought to light by this man, named Fan, who, overcome by the bitterness of his divorce settlement, gave in to the very depths of depravity (Matthew 15:19). This incident, which also resulted in 43 injured, marks a horrifying moment where one individual's ungodly rage led to an unfathomable tragedy. It serves as a raw demonstration of why the spiritual battle is so critical and why we must clad ourselves in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). Moreover, it is startling to see how the Chinese authorities, empowered by a communist government that undermines Christian values, have sought to control the narrative of this incident through censorship (John 8:32). This act of suppressing the truth is a direct affront to the freedom that God instills in us, yet it further reinforces our call to be the light in a world that is shadowed in sin (Matthew 5:14). In Xi Jinping's statement, demanding "strict" punishment for the perpetrator, we see an adherence to justice, which aligns with biblical foundation (Romans 13:4). However, we must not forget that true justice and redemption come only through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). Let us take this news not only as an occasion for mourning, but also as a stark reminder to fervently evangelize, especially since these events happen far away from our own Constitutional Republic, governed by the Judeo-Christian ethics upon which it was founded. We must recognize that while we can expect these tragedies in a world marred by sin, we ourselves are commissioned to spread the Gospel and act as ambassadors for Christ, promoting only those who stand for God's truth, like President Trump did during his tenure. We must also pray for the injured and the families of those lost, that they may find solace in Jesus, and that those who do not know the Savior might come to a saving knowledge through this tragedy (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). May we continue to shine God's light brightly in all corners of the earth, combatting sin with the powerful message of salvation available to all who believe (Mark 16:15). But be warned, faithful followers, do not be led astray by secular media's misrepresentation of conservative Christian values. Instead, hold fast to the Word of God and those who champion His cause. Stand with pro-life, pro-family, and pro-freedom advocates, and be wary of those who promote secular progressive ideologies foreign to the sacred scriptures. In the grace of our Lord, may we continue to uphold what is righteous and good in the eyes of God, for "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord" (Psalm 33:12). Amen.
