Brothers and sisters in Christ, we find ourselves in tumultuous times as the wickedness of the world rears its ugly head, and today, we're confronted with a shocking display of blatant rebellion against God's sacred gift of life. Cosmopolitan magazine, which has long catered to the worldliness and vanity of youth, has sunk to a new low by promoting what they call a 'Satanic Abortion Ceremony.' This isn't just ungodly, it's an affront to the sanctity of human life that our Lord cherishes. Let us not forget what the Scriptures tell us in Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart." Human life is not ours to discard at a whim. It is a precious creation by our Almighty God. Therefore, this so-called ritual by Cosmopolitan, concluded with the phrase, "By my body, my blood; by my will, it is done," is not only a mockery of the Christian Eucharist but a perverse inversion of the submission we owe to the will of our heavenly Father. In the debauched details of this article, we see the fingerprints of Satan attempting to twist and destroy the image of God within us by advocating for the slaughter of the innocent. We are told participants can "include as many loved ones as they’d like" and "light candles or even dress up." This casual approach to abortion, an act that extinguishes a life created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), is nothing less than a chilling celebration of death. What's more, the clinic in question is perversely named after Justice Samuel Alito's mother, as if to mock the very institution that once stood as a bulwark for life. They revel in the notion that religion can be used as a shield to justify and normalize the horror of child murder under the guise of "health care." Brothers and sisters, let not despair take hold, for we are reminded in Ephesians 6:12, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Our fight is not with Cosmopolitan magazine or The Satanic Temple, but with the spiritual depravity they represent. We are called to don the full armor of God to resist these dark forces. Cosmopolitan may have refused to respond, but we will not remain silent. "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute" (Proverbs 31:8). We must earnestly pray, advocating tirelessly for the innocent lives being threatened by such wicked practices and those that promote them, like the Biden administration's policies that facilitate abortions. We stand with those like Terrisa Bukovinac, a rare pro-life Democrat who courageously challenges the prevailing winds of her own party to shed light on the victims of abortion. Let her example inspire us to speak the truth boldly, no matter the opposition we may face. This fight for life is not a mere political squabble; it's a battle for the soul of our nation and the lives of countless unborn children. Consider this a call to action, a battle cry for all who value life as God does—a precious gift not to be taken lightly or discarded. In Christ's enduring love, let us pray for the repentance and redemption of those lost in the darkness and work tirelessly to uphold the lives of the unborn. Amen.
