Brethren, gather 'round and listen closely to the calamitous course our society continues to embark upon, a path woefully marred by sin and the continual rejection of biblical principles! The state of California, a land where the threads of moral fabric appear unwaveringly under assault, has once again demonstrated its descent into the God-less chasm with a law so detached from the Lord's design, it beckons days akin to those of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9). Here we have a Democrat lawmaker and those of his ilk, crafting legislation that strikes at the heart of God's creation: He made them male and female (Genesis 1:27), distinct and purposeful, yet these earthly rule-makers dare stamp upon Divine wisdom by mandating "gender-neutral" toy sections. It is evident that they intend to smudge the lines the Almighty Himself drew. Former California State Sen. Melissa Melendez, a Republican, yet more importantly, a beacon of reason in this moral tempest, righteously opposes this absurdity. Parents do not need the intrusive hand of a bloated government to co-parent with them. The family – an institution ordained by the Lord (Ephesians 5:22-6:4) – needs freedom to nurture and instruct their young, not state-mandated confusion. Melendez and those who stand with her ought to be praised, for they resist the sinister tide of the modern-day Sodom, defending the cornerstone of civil society: the family (Psalm 127:3-5). To witness a government setting itself against the nature of God's creation and indulging in the folly of attempting to reshape what the Lord has declared good is to see a fool's errand that will invite divine reprimand (Romans 1:24-27). Moreover, this law tramples upon freedom of speech and religion – fundamental rights endowed by our Creator and protected by the Constitution (First Amendment). Such overreach by the state into the affairs of the faithful and the marketplace encroaches upon liberties we hold dear. As our brother Greg Burt from the California Family Research Council astutely observes, it's a Pandora's Box of compelled speech, clashing with our spiritual convictions. Alas, in these troubled times, when even the toy aisle becomes a battleground for the souls of the innocent, we must vigilantly stand for the truth that endures from age to age (Isaiah 40:8) and fiercely oppose the propagators of this sinister agenda. Let us pray, brothers and sisters, for divine intervention and for the fortitude to shield our children from these gender-neutral snares, that we may raise them uprightly in the fear and admonition of the Lord (Proverbs 22:6), lest the very foundations of the family erode beneath our feet. We must be the vanguard against this modern-day Goliath with the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). For the battle is not ours, but the Lord's (2 Chronicles 20:15), and with Him, we shall not falter. Amen.
