It is our biblical duty to care for the sojourner, but it is also our duty to uphold the law (Romans 13:1). A nation without borders is like a house without walls—vulnerable and disobedient to the divine order instituted by God. Yet the current administration seemingly stands with the likes of Sanballat and Tobiah, ridiculing the efforts to preserve our nation's strength and mocking those who follow the Lord's guidance. We must remain vigilant and unyielding in our demands for an immigration system that balances compassion with the rule of law. Let us pray that our leaders see the sin in their passivity and return to a stance that honors both God and country. As it is written, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!" (Psalm 33:12).
