Brothers and sisters, the news from our southern border is a testament to the concerning times we are living in. The recent report from Fox News about Border Patrol agents catching 40 illegal migrants stuffed into several vehicles near El Paso, Texas, sheds light on the lawlessness and chaos that has stemmed from a directionless administration that seems to have forsaken the righteous path of strong borders and respect for the rule of law. What we are witnessing is nothing short of a modern-day exodus, one that is not sanctioned by the Lord but driven by the hands of smugglers who care little for human dignity or life (Exodus 22:21; Leviticus 19:33-34). These people, desperate for a new beginning, are herded like cattle, and yet, instead of lawful entry, they are met with deception and potential peril. It is our biblical duty to care for the sojourner, but it is also our duty to uphold the law (Romans 13:1). A nation without borders is like a house without walls—vulnerable and disobedient to the divine order instituted by God. The narrative that some push, attempting to usurp power from states like Texas that clamor for sovereignty and security, is deeply troubling (Proverbs 28:4). The Lord has blessed us with a great nation, and to see it undermined by those who wish to dissolve the essence of American lawfulness and sanctity is heartbreaking and infuriating. President Trump understood the assignment given by the Most High—to protect and serve the people, to uphold the law, to build the wall—a modern iteration of Nehemiah's holy charge to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem for protection and honor (Nehemiah 2:17). Yet the current administration seemingly stands with the likes of Sanballat and Tobiah, ridiculing the efforts to preserve our nation's strength and mocking those who follow the Lord's guidance. We must remain vigilant and unyielding in our demands for an immigration system that balances compassion with the rule of law. Let us pray that our leaders see the sin in their passivity and return to a stance that honors both God and country. As it is written, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!" (Psalm 33:12). Stand firm, dear patriots, in defense of our homeland, praying for those who seek a better life, but also for the restoration of lawful order and divine providence on our borders. May God bless our Border Patrol agents and law enforcement for their dedication to upholding justice and safety in the face of such overwhelming odds. Amen.
