Bidens Border Crackdown Could Disproportionately Affect Families

Once again, we witness the unraveling of American sovereignty and the betrayal of our biblical values under the Biden administration. The recent border crackdown, as reported, underscores a fundamental disregard for the sanctity of the family unit—a cornerstone of Christian belief and godly society (Ephesians 5:31). The troubling aspect of Biden's asylum policy lies not in its intent to enforce immigration laws—indeed, Scripture calls for the respectful adherence to the laws of the land (Romans 13:1-2)—but rather in its destructive impact on the very fabric of family. To rapidly deport families, without due consideration for their pleas of asylum or the potential jeopardy from which they flee, exhibits a hardened heart akin to Pharaoh's in Exodus. Moreover, the potential separation of children from their parents is a direct affront to the command that we care for the alien, the fatherless, and the widow (Deuteronomy 10:18). When parents face the heartrending decision to send their children alone across the border to avoid swift deportation, a crisis of biblical proportions manifests. It's imperative to recall that our forefathers established this great nation under God's grace, with an understanding of compassion balanced with the rule of law. The current approach by the Biden administration lacks this balance. In stark contrast, President Trump's policies sought to maintain strong borders while still upholding Christian compassion, seeking solutions that respected both national security and human dignity. The New York Times' use of language such as "under the radar of the U.S. authorities" is a subtle attempt to normalize illegal immigration, but let us not be deceived. The role of government is to protect its citizens, yes (Proverbs 14:34), but it is also tasked with administering justice and mercy (Micah 6:8). The solution cannot be the wholesale disregard of orderly and legal entry into our blessed country. As we pray for those in authority, especially for a return to godly leadership, let us also commit to standing firmly on the Word of God, rebuking policies that defy the biblical principles upon which our nation was built. May He guide our leaders back to the paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake (Psalm 23:3). The current administration may have forgotten these divine truths, but the faithful in Christ surely will not.
