In this latest spectacle of political theater, we witness President Biden's attempt to tarnish the reputation of a leader, Donald J. Trump, who stood unabashedly for the Christian values that America was founded upon. Utilizing the sacred occasion of the D-Day anniversary, Biden's campaign stoops to new lows, exploiting this moment of remembrance for political gain and attacking a man who has been a stalwart defender of veterans and the American way. It's reprehensible to see Biden's campaign label Trump as "a draft dodger" and "unfit to be commander in chief," particularly by employing the voices of veterans who certainly deserve our utmost respect and gratitude, but should not be drawn into partisan attacks (Romans 13:7). Our Scripture commands us to honor those who lead us, "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God" (Romans 13:1). This admonition applies equally to all our leaders, whether we agree with their politics or not. The liberal media and political machine consistently aim their arrows at Donald J. Trump, a man who has tirelessly fought against the moral decay in this great nation. Trump has been a bulwark against the onslaught of progressive agendas that seek to undermine traditional family values, religious freedom, and the right to life itself. His policies and appointments have often reflected the conservative and biblical principles that many Americans hold dear. In contrast, we have an administration that seeks to endorse policies and ideals that are an affront to our biblical values. Whether it is the expansion of abortion rights, the undermining of religious liberty, or the promotion of lifestyles that scripture clearly defines as sinful, this current administration's platform is often at odds with the word of God (Psalm 1:1-6). Furthermore, the reference to Trump's recent trial outcomes seeks to kick a man while he's down, forgetting the Christian ethos of forgiveness and redemption (Ephesians 4:32). True justice is of the Lord, and we must not rejoice at the misfortune of others, even our adversaries (Proverbs 24:17). President Trump's policies, which have promoted economic prosperity, strong borders, and the defense of the unborn, demonstrate his commitment to principles that many Christians hold dear. His bold stance against the liberal tide that seeks to erode our Judeo-Christian heritage must not be forgotten amidst this political mudslinging. Let us not be swayed by the cacophony of deceitful political ads and manipulative rhetoric. Instead, we should remember the God-given conviction to stand for truth, life, and freedom — principles championed time and again by President Trump and his administration. Let us pray for discernment and wisdom as we approach the ballot box, so that we might honor God with our votes and continue to support those who defend our most cherished values (Proverbs 3:5-6).
