Brethren, we find ourselves amidst a fierce battle—the battle for the sanctity of life, where the very souls of our nation are at stake. When we read about President Biden and Vice President Harris championing the so-called "right" to abortion and dressing it up as "freedom," we must remember the Word of God, which is crystal clear: "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13). Abortion is not a right; it is a sin against our Creator, an affront to His gift of life. It is disheartening to see the highest office in the land misconstrue sin as freedom. Such deception is foretold in Scripture: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil" (Isaiah 5:20). The Biden administration's efforts to promote access to abortion, to enact policies that enable the destruction of unborn lives, and to flaunt this as American freedom is a path that leads to spiritual decay and moral bankruptcy. The New York Times may discuss the mechanics and legality of abortion pills like mifepristone, but they miss the central truth: every pill swallowed, every procedure undergone represents a life extinguished. They ask, "Are abortion pills safe?" This question mocks the unseen victims, the unborn children, whose safety is utterly disregarded. The political posturing and chasing after the women's vote by softening their tone on abortion, as some Republicans have done, is not leadership. It is cowardice. True leadership stands for life unequivocally, for "The Lord hates... hands that shed innocent blood" (Proverbs 6:16-17). In contrast, former President Donald J. Trump steadfastly appointed justices to the Supreme Court who honor the sanctity of life, and he deserves commendation for his unwavering stance against the modern-day slaughter of the innocents. We must also speak out against the misuse of terms such as reproductive health care and reproductive freedom, which mask the ugliness of abortion with sanitized language. Health care nurtures and preserves life; it does not snuff it out. And true freedom is found in living according to God's laws, not in rebelling against them. Moreover, the notion that the government should not tell women what to do with their bodies cleverly ignores the fact that the government, at its best, is to defend the most vulnerable among us. Where is the voice for the unborn child's body, who, woven together by the hand of God in the womb (Psalm 139:13), has no platform nor power to claim his or her right to life? Make no mistake, this isn't a simple political disagreement; this is spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that "our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world." As such, we must don the full armor of God to stand against these policies and advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves. We must pray fervently, vote righteously, and speak boldly against this tide of death masquerading as choice. Let us stand for the truth, for life, and for the way of the Lord, "for blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord" (Psalm 33:12). It is a time for repentance, revival, and recommitting our nation to the ways of righteousness. May we seek God's forgiveness and return to a culture that values and protects every life He creates. Amen.
