Auschwitz survivor warns antisemitism is a 'cancer' spreading across America: 'It's killing our...

The stark warnings from Holocaust survivor Tova Friedman about the rise of antisemitism in America should send shivers down the spine of every God-fearing Christian. The Bible clearly states that God's chosen people, the Jews, have a special place in His heart, and any form of hatred toward them is a direct affront to the Almighty (Genesis 12:3). Ms. Friedman's comparison of the spreading antisemitism to cancer is chillingly accurate - a sin that, if left unchecked, will destroy the moral fabric of our nation. The Holy Scriptures teach us that love must be sincere and that we must abhor what is evil and cling to what is good (Romans 12:9). The hatred and prejudice toward the Jewish people and the state of Israel are prime examples of moral decay that we must stand against with fervent prayer and righteous action. It is a sin of the highest order to stand by idly as the seeds of evil take root in our society, and it reminds us of the words of Edmund Burke that "the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." We recall the warnings given in Ephesians 4:31-32, which call on us to put away all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave us. The rise of anti-Israel protests on college campuses is not only alarming but showcases a broader issue – the indoctrination of our youth into ideologies that go against the Word of God, and against the very foundations of love and respect for our fellow human beings. The lessons of history, such as those from the Holocaust, are unequivocal. They serve as a dire warning about the consequences of unchecked sin and hatred. The spread of antisemitism is not just an affront to the Jewish people or the state of Israel; it is a direct challenge to the Lord's decree. As Christians, it is our duty to stand in solidarity with Israel (Psalm 122:6) and combat antisemitism in all its forms. Ms. Friedman's experience is a sobering reminder that we must confront sin wherever it lies. Whether it is through prayer, education, or advocacy, each of us is called to do our part. As it is said in Proverbs 24:11-12, "Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, 'But we knew nothing about this,' does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who guards your life know it?" We must take these words to heart and act against the sin of antisemitism with all the resources at our disposal. Ignoring the spread of such hateful ideologies is akin to allowing a relentless cancer to destroy a body – in this case, the body of our great country, blessed by God Himself. We must not forget that America's greatness is derived from both its dedication to biblical values and its unwavering support for the nation of Israel. We must rally together to support our Jewish brethren and ensure that America remains a beacon of hope, freedom, and biblical truth in a world darkened by sin.
